This entire course is designed to ensure an adequate level of knowledge to all on board in managing risks associated with the use of computer systems (IT and OT). The objective is to effectively combat cyber threats and vulnerabilities by increasing the cyber-security risk awareness through an adequate training.

It is therefore necessary to ensure an adequate level of awareness of cyber risks at all levels on board. Awareness and preparation should be tailored and appropriate to the roles and responsibilities on board.

This unit completes specifically the CySO training who is the officer assigned to deal with cybersecurity on board. He is responsible for implementing the ship specific Cyber Security Plan and has the authority to respond to malicious computer activities and protect the ship’s operations.
